The Next Conversation Has Already Started

Introducing the Legacy Wine Collection. Extraordinarily limited. Available only at duckhorn.com.

Every great winery eventually reaches a moment where honoring its past isn’t enough. Where the real question isn’t what have we made but what are we capable of making next?

This is that moment for Duckhorn.

This year, three new wines join The Discussion at the very top of what we do. Not as a tribute. Not as a commemoration. As a declaration of where we are headed and what Renée Ary and her team believe this land still has left to say. Together, they form the Legacy Wine Collection — extraordinarily limited, available only through Duckhorn.com, and made for the kind of drinker who understands that a wine’s best years are almost never its first ones.

Three Palms Block 5 Merlot returns to the vineyard that started everything, but goes deeper than we ever have before. For years, we’ve farmed Three Palms block by block, fermented each lot individually, and kept everything separate until we understood what we had. Block 5 is what decades of that discipline finally produced: 14.7 acres of rocky alluvial soils expressing Merlot with a precision and depth that makes it impossible to think of this site the same way again. Bright red cherry, fig, huckleberry. Polished tannins. A mineral finish that invites you back. Open it in ten years and discover what it became.

Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon is a statement of intent for the next chapter. To Kalon, first planted in 1868, sits at the intersection of Napa’s most complex soils and most studied sunlight. Sourcing from this ground is not incremental. It is Duckhorn saying plainly: this is the tier we are playing in now. Dense, graceful, and deeply structured, this is a Cabernet built for cellars and for time. The kind of wine that makes a collector rethink what’s already in their library.

Legacy Blanc is perhaps the most quietly thrilling of the three. Rooted in the dry-farmed Tofanelli Ranch in Calistoga, a site with more history than headlines, it is a Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon blend that channels the same Bordeaux instinct that guided Dan Duckhorn to Three Palms in the first place. Inaugural vintage. 95 points from James Suckling. A white wine made with the same structural ambition we bring to our very best reds. This is not the beginning of something. It is the arrival of something that has been quietly developing for a very long time.

The Discussion was never meant to be a destination. It was meant to be a living conversation, one that gets richer as the years go on, as new vineyards reveal themselves, as winemakers find new ways to listen. The Legacy Collection is proof that the conversation is just getting started.
